I don't see anywhere in that estimate where they are fixing the crack in the rack mounting area of the frame. Make sure you speak with the shop doing the work and your insurance company to make sure they add that in a supplemental estimate for you.

I mentioned that as well. Adjuster said he noticed it, not sure why it never showed on the estimate. He told me any further damage found by the shop will be covered.

It's quite possible he didn't know how to estimate for it so just left it off and is waiting for the shop to look at it and then tell them what needs to be done and how much it will cost.

One thing I'd make sure and inquire about with your shop is recoating the frame after they weld on it. They're going to need to coat the outside as well as the inside since the welding will melt it off the back side.

As an insurance adjuster myself, I see shops neglect this kind of thing all the time. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck.

Went and checked on my truck at the shop today, it's been there nearly two weeks. They haven't even started on it yet! I'm so pissed. Also, I specifically asked for them to use OEM Toyota ball joints on both sides, the owner said of course no problem. I ask the mechanic today and he tells me he just ordered parts from Napa this morning and only for one side. Wtf. And I asked when my new fender was going to be in, and he said "huh... I didn't even notice you needed a fender."
I can't believe this. $1000 deductible for this BS. Wish I just worked on it myself.

The estimate provided by your insurance has an Oem ball joint. the shop can't legally just throw an aftermarket one on there. Was this shop recommended by your insurance company? I would start to be suspicious. Tell the shop that you want all the old parts and you will want to see every invoice for every part that goes on your truck. Make sure they're aware that you want them following your insurance company's estimate to the letter. If the shop puts aftermarket and your insurance wrote the estimate for Oem, the shop can get in a ton of trouble with the bureau of automotive repair (BAR). If this is what they're doing at this point, I may see if I could just pull my truck from the shop and take it to the dealer.
