BAMF 3rd Gen Recessed Raptor Style Grille

My cement colored back plate is now complete!

I can't thank @JLee enough for providing a removable back plate that could then be custom painted, not to mention providing an awesome quality product to begin with.

 

Great set up, looking to get that bumper and grill soon. Question, did you have to cut anything when installing that Avid bumper? Thanks

Going on ~year 1/2 and no probs. Few little rust spots, but it matches the body
Still 1 of my favorite mods! I had to add some flare to it though....

 

You can actually order the back plate powder coated in any body matching color as an option (see page 1)..... with the exception of Cement.

Due to this, I purchased the Cement automotive base coat color and clear coat to paint the back plate myself. The back plate was shipped raw aluminum which made prep work much quicker.

 

I just installed the recessed grill. The installation mentions that we need to reinforce the notch in the back of the surround. I don't know which one it is. Does anybody have picture show how it looks like? Thanks.

 

You don't need too it's disclaimer as two people have had a split on the plastic surround. I can post a pic of the location on Monday.

@JLee I will send you a self addressed stamped envelope tomorrow. Mine was one of the first batches out so I did not get the rubber grommets.

If I recall correctly I paid extra for the powder coated bolts? Looks like from my pics that the bolts are not holding the black paint well...

What do you recommend to touch up rusted spots on grill?

Any thoughts on the color of the bolts? Ideally would love them to stay black.

Looks nice What kind of material is the grille, and mounting hardware, made out of?

 

I've been wiping my grille with a light coat of fluid film on a rag after I wash the truck, haven't had a single issue with rust since. Added the grommets also.

 

The bolts are stainless steel its the exposed steel on the grille that's causing that not the bolts. If you pull the bolts you will see the coating has been removed on the grille.

 

Cold rolled mild steel and the bolts are black oxide stainless steel.

The "eco" style comes in stainless and aluminum options

 

Sure we can make them out of stainless for another $250. Aluminum wont work it warps too much from the welding.

 

Expensive piece of sheet metal, but some people might be willing to pay that, actually, to avoid rusting from kicked up debris.

 

We have 4 blem recessed grilles in stock ready to ship. 250 each shipped to anywhere in the lower 48.

They all have an aggrisive textured powder on them and I do not like how they turned out so they will be sold at a discount.
