    The usual reason is violation of forum rules. It normally results in a temp ban. Violate them again and you can get perma banned. It is all relative to the situation. Just remember personal attacks are verboten. That seems to be the biggest reason.

    Yeah... disagreements can get heated... there's a guy on here that I think has crossed the line a few times, but he usually deletes his posts a few minutes after leaving them, so I guess that's good enough. Still... repeated violations of forum rules and personal attacks will get it done.
