Not sure why they're so expensive now. I bought one last year for $13.

It looks like you have the right part, something isn't lining up properly. Check the firewall side where the bolt/hook thing is and make sure it's not turned around. You just need a new bolt/washer I think. Unless like @MikeWH said, you bought a battery that was too big. I know a 24F battery fits fine.

It should fit then. Check the tie down hook on the firewall side of the battery, make sure it's not backwards or in some way interfering with the battery sitting in the plastic bin.

Is the bottom of the battery sitting on the lip of the bottom plate?

It looks like the battery is sitting to close to the fender.

Which makes it sit crooked .

It is easier to get the bolt in the radiator support first then tighten down the one on the back side .

Once the bolt and nut are on tighten things up

Could I just but the battery down on the truck instead of the plastic holder that under the battery could I just take that out and put the battery on the truck metal with no plastic holder under it

From the factory there is a couple millimeters thick plastic tray under the battery. That needs to stay. Some batteries that you buy come with plastic spacers of various sizes but those are only there if needed. You may not need it. Like when I bought my Optima red top equivalent I had to use the plastic riser that came with the battery because the Optima was a smaller battery even though it was the same group size.
