Hello I just bought a 2007 TRD sport. The original battery is still on it and seems ok...has the green light glowing lol. How long till it will likely go bad...3-4 years usually is the life-span right?

Anyone know roughly what a replacement from the dealer gonna cost me...normally I go to Walmart but will probably fork out the extra cash if it's worth it. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Ive seen original batteries in cars that were 6 and 7 years old. It just depends really...has it gone dead at all? The more the battery is deep cycled the shorter the life gets and the less it will hold a charge. I would just hold out man...itll prolly a last a while longer. I have been told however the expected life is generally 4-5 years

Out here in AZ, I seem to only be able to get a couple of years out of them. My OEM battery lasted 34 months on my '07

I bought my '06 with 20K miles. It now has 24K. My stock battery left me stranded in the desert a few weeks ago. No indications of discharge, no slow cranking, no current draw with engine off, no nothing. Hopped in the truck to leave the cacti and head home...click click click. 2 other Taco owners I've talked to swear to stay away from Toyota batteries. I went with an AutoZone special, as it was the closest at the time. Just my $.02

My '04 Ford Lightning stock battery never had an issue for almost 6 years...and may still be going strong.

I bought my 2006 Tacoma in Dec 2005.

My OEM battery died last month (Oct 09) with 60k miles.

I went with a Optima Red top from Costco for $75.

I got 59k on my 2006. OEM battery seems to be doing fine but I'm going to be swapping out for a Optima red top here shortly.

I just changed the battery in my wife's '03 RAV4. Not a bad run if you ask me for a factory battery.
