    Hey gang,

Anyone in the area able to help out with an OV tune? I want to know what I need to get in terms of equipment to get access to the ECU etc. Would also just love an in person walkthrough.

This is probably the best resource on the steps to follow: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/vf-tuner-installation-guide-faq.695951/

In short you need to buy the software, the cable, and the credits to unlock tuning for your ECU. There are some good tunes that have been shared for most of the ECU's, so you might hold off on buying the tune pack.

Tunes for the different AT ECU's can be found here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/vf-tuning-for-at-tacoma’s-tune-files-in-first-post.693221/

The $250 going rate seems way too high for a simple tune with no support, hardware, or follow up. I can't stomach supplementing 1/3 of the cost of the whole thing just for a tune and a slap on the ass.

The driving experience is worth it. Chan is willing to retune for free!

I think the tune process was really straight forward and easy. I bought the package with software and ecu kit(now I can tube it when I want with what I want). Just need a laptop running windows to connect with the truck

I recently had this tune done with Chan it was a very smooth transaction. Purchasing the entire kit is an option, however, Chan made the transaction so effortless to be honest it felt like I was making a run for some gas. Along with the agreed meet up location, punctuality, and free re-tunes. This approach just works for me. Friendly and informative guy too who has essentially done all the leg work for you in navigating what tune(s) should be used to optimize your needs. Definitely a great option to consider if you live in the Bay Area.

Ended up going with Chan for the asking price. I held out way too long. Glad I did it.
