The Lurker is finally out of the shadows!

I'll take a stab and see how good my memory is. 41.5", 26", 4.5" now let's see how far off I am when Cody chimes in haha.

I don't see any frame notching either so my goal of 5" of up at ~26" frame height should be doable without getting crazy. Going to have to do some more trimming though.. I have ~4" of up right now and the 40's stuff into the inner fender. Already took a bfh to it lol. Might have to cut and tub like my firewall.

There really isn't any need to notch the frame for those numbers. The two biggest obstacles you'll face are one the steering box and the oil pan. As well as the upper link hitting the floor. Jimmy is correct with the numbers he's recalled. But up travel right now is ~5" with the newly clearanced oil pan.

You could get the frame height lower by an inch and still keep the same up travel of 5" if you cut the frame and raise the steering box. And lift the drive train. However it's a lot of work for not much. Jimmys belly pan hangs about 3.75" below the frame rails which is about 1.5" lower then the link mounts. When taking that into consideration a frame height of lower then 25-26" would render his belly draggin in everything. I decided that where we stood numbers wise. Ride heigh wise and up travel wise. Was a very good compensation for getting a good stock mod truck.

Keeping in mind every build has its perimeters. Pulling the cab chopping up the frame. Flat bellying it and cutting up the cab floor was a option I could of got this truck in buggy territory haha but that wasn't what we were shooting for.

Well I don't have a steering box so I don't have to worry about that :luvya: I'm not too concerned to get as low as possible. I like my belly height and not dragging frame and belly over everything. The extra width of the 60/14 bolt should get me the stability I'm looking for.

Have any pics of the oil pan? Haven't seen anyone had to modify one for a tacoma yet. Would you still have the same clearance issue with a pass drop axle? (I'm passenger drop) What center are you using in the ruffstuff housing?

well that handles that annoying steering box.

    Are you running a 3rz? 5vz? Or a ??

Ruffstuff housings. Solid industries 60 otters. Strange 9" thirds with arbs. Rcv shafts.

I'm running a turbo 3rz. Is the 9" a high or low pinion? I'll be running a low pinion chevy 60. Don't see it taking up much more room than my LC 9.5" third now so I'm hoping I wont have to touch the pan. I think my limiting factor on uptravel is going to be tire clearance.

Probably not. 3rz Is a bit different then this 3.4 . The factory 6d housing is more off set then this housing.

Haha every build is different. I thought for sure I'd have to notch the frame on this one. Wound up cutting up the oil pan it's always different. Every set up. Every build. :D
