Yes, Reynolds and I are driving together and will be rolling into the springs sometime early Friday! Wish we could make it up sooner.

    Great 1st Gen Build!

If you're ever in Indiana, get out. Find the quickest way out, and go.

You can stop by the house, so I can see it in person....I can offer BBQ and booze...but that's about the best thing in the state....so.....Hi.

    Thanks dude!
Haha will do! As far as the ORIs go I don't think there is a post in here that could ever explain enough about them. I linked here the "about" section from their website as well the the manual that is a wealth of information. Basically they are a Nitrogen charged bypass strut that are internally bumped and limited. They require a good bit of maintenance and are typically more work than most want.

So, really these are probably best suited for dedicated rigs?

I wanted to know more about the road manners. Also, if you could, go in more depth about the maintenance...(of course)

I think some would argue they are great on the street but I don't think so, yet at least. I still only have 1500 miles on them and I've been told they take a while to break in. They also take a while to warm up, on my short commute into work they are pretty stiff. Stiff is great for cornering, I do love how they handle. Not so great for bumps, they don't do a good job soaking up all the small stuff and can be pretty bouncy.

I will credit this mostly to the fact I am still trying to learn them, there is soooo much adjustability in them it can take a really long time to fine tune everything. That manual kind of makes your head spin.

As far as maintenance all I have experienced so far is the pressure charge. It has dropped a bit since new so they require you have your own Nitro bottle. You may go to leave work one day and one sides a little low for example. I've also been told by a few people they are known to blow seals on the trail, unlike a coilover there's no spring to act as a fail safe.

So yeah, not for everyone, frankly the jury is still out with me. I will use them for a couple years and decide wether they stay or get replaced by the tried and true coilover.

    Awesome.

I like the clean look of them...and the design and function is really interesting. Sounds like an OBA system with an air compressor and a bottle of Nitro sounds ideal....

I think I messaged JLee (maybe) a long time ago and spoke to him about them...and he stated that they could R&D any application...

Wonder what cost would be for a mostly street driven truck....lol
