I'll have to click on your links and check out all the parts you used since I'm sure it's pretty much identical for the 98-00 Tacoma headlights...
No, I'm doing active duty for 4 years.
BTW nice work, I like the IG pics you've been posting so far

EDIT: Just looked at the link of your kit. The 1st link from theretrofitsource.com included all necessary parts used to install these retros? Are the "Eagle Eyes" the headlight housings? I'm guessing you replaced the OEM headlights/housings with the Eagle eyes off of eBay...?

yeah it should be all the same parts, the only thing specific to our truck is the H4 harness, its all custom otherwise, thanks man! I have been at it for 4 years now, its hard but I love it.

edit: Ill post some full frontal shots tomorrow.
Awesome man! I thank you in advance for your service.

and yeah the eagle eyes are just the housings from ebay.

thanks! I love it, I haven't had to use it to save my own ass yet but I have used it to pull some cars that dont run around and a trailer at my dads property.

Also used it to pull down a car port that got stuck in a tree in a wind storm. that was fun...

its super fast and user friendly. Its a WARN so really you cant go wrong! get the synthetic line, much better!

Hey what made you choose the H1 kit as opposed to the D2S kit?

I'm not sure really haha, I think I read something on here that said it was the easiest to fit to our lights but I have no clue if there is any truth behind it. I'm not even aware what the differences are between the two kits.

One difference is the D2S can use a lot of different aftermarket bulbs and the h1 cant. I've also read that the h1 pits out a little better light than the D2S.

Freed up some weight in the rear, removed the undersized spare and accompanying brackets, rear bumper, and tow package. Than I relocated the license plate and made a quick bracket to mount one of the license plate lights so I'm legal.

Curious does anyone know the correct license plate light LED equivalent?

I should have done this a while ago, went for a test drive and it feels a lot lighter. Also now I am wanting to hack off my tailpipe since it hangs down so much.

    before and after.

Hey! I am hoping you might be able to give me some advice about rims... I'm planning to use the same wheel setup you have, 285/75 R16's with the same rims you got. Do you know what offset is needed to avoid rubbing without using a spacer?

Your truck looks amazing! Just a word of advice though, up here in Michigan it's apparently illegal to not have a rear bumper. I got pulled twice because of it, so I ended up having to put a piece of 2x4 there. I took my old rear bumper off because it was so bad. Not sure about your state but you'll most likely get hassled if you leave it off long enough haha.

luckily you only need a front bumper in California, rear is optional! thanks for the compliments.

it depends on your lift, I have a 3inch lift, backspacing is 4inches. They still rub, take a razor knife to the plastic inner fender and beat the pinch weld on the body mount that the wheels rub on. you will not avoid rubbing, but its no big deal, easy fix. good luck!

Nice truck!!! I see you have a revtek lift kit , how that treating you???? I have the same setup but, I have billies 5100's all around and OME 881's up front . So my front sits higher by 1 inch then the rear. After I put the bumper and the winch it rides smoother now. I'm still debating on switching out the spacers for leafs and eibach coils up front.

Do you off road with the kit ??? if so how does it perform??? Also it's time for some new tires thinking about doing 285's what did you actually trim?? Any pics?? Here's my truck with 265/75/16's.

Hell yeah! I wanted to go high clearance from the second I saw one. Bobbing is on the wish list. Wanting to get into a house soon so I'm trying to hold of on mods for now. My bumper that I built; thinking about adding to it later

I really like the look of yours, It is going to be a plate style, similar to elite or relentless, and I know I want a swing out. A hybrid of all of those haha. It looks really badass in my head thats for sure. Yours really does look great, it would have been hard for me to drill the holes for the license plate

truck looks great man! the revtek kit was never meant to be permanant, just a quick way to clear the tires i wanted to run. I am upgrading to all pro expo's and icon coilovers soon. It rides a preforms like a stock truck. I didnt have to trim much at all , just a little bit of the inner fender, i went to town when i had the wheel spacers but have since taken them off so i have a ton of clearance now!

you do not need to cut near as much as this, but you cant see it so i didnt care.

Yeah I may do a little plating under down the road but I only had so much time to get it done. Like my buddy's jeep:

I actually have the plates already cut and in my toolbox just chillin... haha. Some people can pull off swingouts but I don't think I'd like one on my truck, but go for it! And the license plate holes weren't too bad, I mean I cut the shit out of the bedsides.. what's 3 holes in the tailgate? And dad dropped his 800lb four wheeler on it a few years ago so it bent to hell already. I might do a tire gate but we'll see
