Really anxious to see your results!
Please make sure to post plenty of pics.
I have the MGM and I haven't found an aftermarket grill that I'm in love with yet.

ETA: I'm sitting on the beach with a terrible internet signal, just noticed that you have already added pics. Doesn't look too shabby.

IMG_5996.jpg I just switch out the stock grill and put in the TRD pro instead of painting.

Just did mine yesterday. Followed the instructions, took about 3 hours. Most of that time was spent walking my dog around the block in-between coats so they'd dry. Pretty happy with the final result.

Before I saw this thread I did mine the same way as you. I just used spray paint from autozone that was color matched and a clear coat on top, went on fine and was cheap.

But I kind of like the ones who color matched the two center lines.

It's been a year since I did that. Decided to go all black except the emblem. In my case it's color matched to my truck.

You can, but the paint is only as durable as it would be on any flexible rubbery surface. Other than glossing up the black of the P-dip, I can't imaging why you would want to, but surely people have done it with some level of success.

FYI, mine is still as nice as the day it was painted.

Just did mine last weekend. Came out okay. Few marke on the last coat of clearcoat, but had no more patients to sand and do another. Hopefully it holds up.

Looking to do this to my grill, how is the paint holding up? Any problems with chipping etc? Thanks in advance!

Nope none here. I put several coats of flat black on and then several coats of flat clearcoat. If you want it to last I'd recommend paint over plastidip.

Are you suggesting plastidip first in place of sanding it, prior to painting?

No chipping so far but a few parts where clear coat didn't dry right. Can't tell unless you are super up close. Ultimately would have preferred a trd pro grill or alternative but this saved me 300+
