DISCLAIMER: This Mod / Horn upgrade is not for people who want a loud deep ear blasting horn.
These horns have a more high pitched Rally car sound to them.

Hey Guys! Subaru The Tacoma here doing my first write up.

Today we are going to be doing a super easy almost direct swap mod to change out the stock horns with these bad boys

    https://www.amazon.com/HELLA-922000...prefix=hella+sharp,aps,180&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

I Love the way these horns sound. I feel like the more high pitched sound cuts through traffic noise really well plus the look of confusion when they hear that style honk come out of a truck is priceless.

Also, the look of them behind the grill is Delicious.

Step 1: Get all your stuff together!
    2018-06-15 15.10.07-2.jpg

at the time I did this Mod I also installed some Cali raised bed stiffeners and antenna mounts (Thanks! @CaliRaisedLed)along with Tacoma inserts on the tailgate.

Step 2: Make a Ground Wire Harness. This is the only part of this mod that requires some brain power

    2018-06-16 20.13.13-2.jpg

    2018-06-16 20.17.14.jpg

Step 3: Unplug the factory horns and remove them

Step 4: Using the same screws and holes from the factory horns mount the Hella Horns

Step 5: plug in the Factory plugs to the left contact on the hella horns

Step 6: use your ground harness to connect the right contacts of the hella horns and then run the ground wire to your ground point. I use the one near my battery for all my accessories.

Step 7: find some traffic and lay on the horn! NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

UPDATE: V2 in progress. Currently waiting on @BartMaster1234 Horn Bracket.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-cadillac-horns-winter-2k18-group-buy.508390/

I will use his Bracket and wire harnness to run 2 x Hella Sharp tones and 2x Hella Super tones .... or maybe 4x Sharp tones. Have not Decided yet

I did not use the relays. As far as I know that is already built in since we are using the stock horn harness

From what I’ve read, using the stock wired to power the Hellas does not provide the required power to get the most from the horns. The relay will provide that needed 12v.

The Sharptones draw less power and you can use the stock power. If you go with the Supertones, then you will need the relay. I went with the Sharptones with no relay and stock power and they are fine.
