    hey man. thanks for telling me about this in the snowboard bs thread. i just looked at there boxes. and... i think they will stick out way to far on my DC SB. seeing that it stick out past you’r bed and you have the long bed. and like you i want to keep in low so i have less wind drag and don’t loos MPG. and easy to get to. i don’t have side steps. i’m kinda saving for sliders tho.

    Not the best pics, but this is what is under the plastic caps. As I recall the metal feels flimsy. I would want to reinforce it. The fender rolls over the top and bolts to the plastic bed where the rail goes on. Was thinking of doing something similar with the angle iron but inside the fender.

    When I had my tool box mounted in my bed I drilled through the top of the bed sides and used a piece of 2"x4" flat steel stock under that thin metal to give it enough strength.

    Haha nice. I've been meaning to see if my rtt will fit on the bed bars and see if I can close the softtopper.
