Do you have any close up pics of the mounting points? Specifically, pics of how you used the bed rails.

    i use a variety of tie downs:p

the tire is actually held down with the stock winch that holds it under the car, but i flipped it upsidedown and welded it to the cross bars

the gas cans are tied in with straps

the fire extinguisher has the mount that is bolted in

for the hi-lift i welded some flat stock and drilled holes through them that lines up with the jack.....so i gas that on is bolted in:rolleyes:

and the duffle bag is tied in

sick man, i can't wait to see how it turns out. are you ganna make it the same size as mine? also one thing to take into consideration; remember how with basket at the same level as the rails, you won't be able to fit a cooler under it. unless you have a cooler lower than mine. cuz we ran into that problem at my house.

Yeah its going be the same size.

Oh yeah I remembered that because I'm making it so I can side this hardcore plastic tub under it to hold my new camping junk. Its like a Action Packer but bigger stronger and cheaper then the xl one.

Can you tell me how wide the part is where you mounted the hi-lift whenever you get a chance.?

it's about 1". but u'd be better off going a little wider, cuz the jack is just as wide so it gets jammed in even when i un-bolt it. like a 1 1/4" would be good

and don't make them too tall. the one next to the base can't be more than 2 3/4"

but i made mine a little more complicated then they needed to be

i made an H so the jack sits in the hopen top and rests on the horizontal piece....not sure why i did it that way. so the overal hight it 3 3/4, by the jack only takes up 2 3/4"

    Cool Thanks.

You know how you welded the spare holder on to the frame? I think I'm going to make it so it can be a bolt on so if I want to use the basket for other stuff I can take it off and not have it sticking up.

Yeah I think so. One for gas and one for water though. I would have started already but I'm waiting on my damn saw to come in. lol You can't do much if you can't the damn pipe.

I may add another holder on the other side like the one used for the hi lift and use it to mount an ax and shovel.
