    Hello all!!
FNG here with a nube question.
I am looking for suggestions on a bed cover for my 2020 Tacoma TRD Sport. I am hoping to find one that is water tight (no water gets into the bed). I had the extang trifold 2.0 on my Tundra and any cargo in the bed would get drenched from water getting in around the edges. any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA.

There are several special “features” of the tacoma bed that make water tight a challenge, and you ought to keep in mind when shopping. One is the flare inwards on the bedsides towards the tailgate end, you will probably get a small gap here with most bolt on rail style systems. Second is the textured bedside covers. The texture can interfere with seals on top of the bedsides. The third is the large gap in the corners between the bedsides and the bulkhead at the cab end of the bed. Water will leak here with any cover unless you seal it, you also need to seal underneath between the plastic bedside caps and the metal bedside.

I have had a good experience so far with my softopper. I needed a little effort past the softopper design to get water tight, but I would be ok tossing a duffel bag of clothes back there, even in a summer thunderstorm. Previously I had a tri fold style I was never happy with.

I also recommend a bed mat if staying dry is important. Most water will run under the bed mat, so even if you get some seepage, your stuff will stay drier.
