I picked up an extender. And the previous owner said it was off first gen truck.
I tried to install it. And it seems like the brackets are about an inch away from the bed on each side. Am I missing somethig to install the brackets?

I noticed that when I seen the pics of the mounts. I'm thinking the amp mounts won't work for me.

Old bump, but I too am struggling to find these brackets for an OEM extender I just bought for my 1st gen. My 2003 came with an extender and the brackets appear to be the normal 2nd gen style with spacers between the bracket and bed side. My old Tacoma had the style that mounts to the beds tie down loops. All of my searching keeps showing me some weird L bracket (74601-01A) and I have no idea how those things mount. Any input on this or the other mounts? I know, I can check the dealership when all else fails. Thanks all!

Thanks, that's the style I had on my last 2003, they worked well. I am having a hard time finding these now, I wonder if they are only a dealer option? That would be bad, but most likely.

What does that brace kit look like on your truck? This is all I can see on Toyota.com

I am thinking get the dimensions and make your own or have them made.

I venture unless some dealer has them buried on a shelf as new old stock they are long obsolete.

If the part number is correct on the box frizzman sent and I can get @frizzman to send me a picture of the bracket that was in that box then I believe I found it on Toyota.com

I'm using a wilco tiregate. My brackets might be in the closet still. If I can find them, i'll send them out to someone.
