I wonder if there are any that would extend up to the level on your truck bed where you put wood in order to haul a sheet of drywall/plywood? may have to fab something up for this?

I have a harbor freight bed extender. Paid around $45 after a coupon if I recall. I carry my 16 foot canoe with it. I needed to buy a longer hitch pin though, the one that comes with it is not long enough for factory hitches.

The vertical piece on mine adjusts.

I welded one up. I hauled some 16' shelving with it the other day.

    Works great.

Got mine at Norther Tool made by Ohio several years ago. I have not used it often but when I do, nothing else will work.

CB - Why did you use boards in your bed? Just curious. I've got a 13' kayak as well. I was just planning to put it right in the bed.

I'm going with a Harbor Freight model. $60, but 20% off coupons are easy to get.

It gets my 2 yaks up over the fender wells so they sit side by side w/o touching the truck or each other.

Mine are 15' long but only 26" wide.

Don't use them when hauling 1, and of course lower the extender vertical piece to bed level.

Also note the piece in hitch can flip around and have the long side vertical. Put T on that and a roof rack to carry high.
