1 roll for $15 or so did the whole bed plus the inside of my hood, plus the glovebox and center console.

That is what I installed on my Taco. I like the stock look and one set is plenty, in my opinion, for the 6 foot bed. The set is a bit pricey for what you get is the only drawback.

I totally get it that you know what you want, in this case you know what you don’t want but I’m curious of the same thing too. I’ve had @mattgecko bed lights for over 2 years no issues and I love them. Good overall light output that is very evenly distributed plus they are completely out of sight/ harms way. I even gave him some exact specs and he made a custom set for my old dodge. Yeah some have complained about the cost but I’m fine with paying the guy a few bucks to put these together and ship them out.

I just installed the Toyota Bed Light kit. They have changed some things from the 2016. Mainly the length of cable and the way the plugs are attached in the back of the Bed lights. Much improved. Nice finished look. Works well with factory switches and key fob would take me a 1/4 if the time if I had to do it again.

That said, had I had to do it again I would go with waterproof LeD strips. I did those on my RV and 4 yrs later still work flawlessly. Would be cheaper, give you more options and being able to use different colors would be fun.

That's crazy, for that price you could of done the whole bed, Under the hood, Center Console and Glove compartment if you ran a power wire from front to back.

I wasn't interested in running wires and switches to the cab. The truxedo light strip was the quick and easy solution. If you want to come over and wire up my truck with LED's, just let me know
