Getting a bed rack for RTT and overland gear, do you like the style of a full 18" rack that meets the height of the cab or a little shorter 12"- 14"?

Depends on your purposes. The lower racks are a little nicer for mpg and garage clearance if you can swing it. But if you have something like a mountain bike that you routinely travel with, it may change that equation. Thankfully, I can eek mine under my C4 rack.

I'm waiting on my Cali Raised Off-road mid height bed rack(10") to come in, Should be in sometime next week, I'll keep you updated how I like it. I have a free spirit 63" tent I'll be putting on it.

After installing the bed rack, I'm very pleased the height I went with. very little wind noise when driving and not a noticeable difference in gas mileage(yet). the only down side I have from this height is it blocks most of my rear view mirror while driving but there is a little slot you can look back through.
