Yes, it's below the cab. Both the rack and tent are from FRO.

I have the Relentless Fab tall bed bars and I like the fact my rtt is at cab/rack height.006.jpg

I can't remember the exact height, but the bar sits at the line of the window sill, so it doesn't block my sight at all

I currently run a cab height rack from All Pro Off road with a Gordigear RTT. I like the height of the rack because it gives me access to the bed and it is easier to remove my RTT.

You can have both--KBVodoo tall rack with James Baroud Horizon Vision rtt. We also mounted KBVoodoo bed bars and a Rhino Rack cargo basket under the tent, although that's kind of hard to see in these photos.

I'm happy with my RCI mid height and Tepui Kukenam Sky Ruggedized. I've ran ARB and CVT Summit and prefer the Tepui Ruggedized.

Tent stays on full time and fits in a 7-foot garage/deck. Also you maintain normal visibility through the rear view mirror and minimal mpg drop.

Thanks! yeah it looks nice. My rack is low so it would be nice not to hit my head on the awning. Looks like you also made a tonneau cover work with your rack? Which one is that! Im curious as I chain or lock everything down in mine and it's a giant hassle.

Lots of great ideas now just contemplating what to do. I am going to be making a custom truck vault so that is the first step I guess.

Not to hijack this thread, but do you think I would I be able to mount this awning without blocking the light bar I installed? Very nice set up by the way. Also to the OP, the RCI rack is pretty bad ass. I also have the CVT Mt. Rainier extended Summit series.

I'm looking at my first RTT setup. Logistically, it seems like a hard shell with the RTT on top is the way to go, but I don't see very many of those. Is there a particular reason that most setups don't do hard shells?

More then likely the reason is a hard shell thats HD with bars or a rack to support a tent i would say averages around $2600. And the fact that the tent it mounted super high and catches a lot of wind which will obviously eat away some mpgs which can make a big difference money wise on high mileage trips.

I ran an RTT on top of my hard shell last year, over 15K miles. MPG loss was about 5%. Didn't do much off-roading with that setup but did feel the weight plus higher CG. Note that typically with this setup, you have towers and crossbars on the shell that raise the RTT another 3-4 inches above the top of the shell, so it's even taller than a cab-high rack. On the other hand, it does give you everything in one configuration.
