I'm mounting a motorcycle tie down bar that bolts to the back of the bed and I need to move the bed a few inches away from the cab so I may have access to the bolts I need to add and tighten.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience doing this or precautions I need to know.
It's obvious there are six bolts holding the bed to the frame, that's the easy part, but I know there are surprises lurking.
Tried a search and nothing on this subject came up so this is not something folks do often.

Can’t answer your question. However, I’ve removed those bolts to add some tie down rings. Use a breaker bar or a steel pipe on your socket wrench or you will not have a fun time as those bastards are on tight!

I'll have to crawl around under there for any wires/cables that may be secured to the bed.

Very similar to this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003F7D1H4/
I think the company Cambridge something or other went out of business or was bought out.

new to the forum guys (names, JB) I've have been lurking for a while. Looking to pick up a SB tacoma here in the next month or so. Do you think my Harley Davidson Sportster would fit in the bed? Bout 60" long. Says the bed is about that. Weighs around 550lbs wet. Any thoughts?? Sorry to thread jack. Delete if off topic. Cheers!

Getting it from the ground to the bed might be tricky, just make sure you have people around to help you and spot you. I load bikes half that weight and had some hairy moments.

If he isn't, he oughta be. He'd fit right in.
