bed rust fix help

Well I have no idea how to tackle this one so I figured I would ask. I have a rust hole about the size of a quarter in the bed of my truck. heres the catch. its right above the cross support that runs horizontal with the bed. how can i fix this?

 

cut out the rusted area, weld a plate in and grind it flush and paint.

 

X2...or find a new bed somewhere.

 

thats the thing its right on top of a cross support. i dont wanna cut out any supports

Weld a plate over the hole....it's not a show truck.

 

Not an easy fix with out a wire feed welder, if you have the tools, cut it out with a angle grinder and weld a piece in, or if you could fab up a metal patch and epoxy it in and treat the under side with a rust inhibitor. Rust is a bitch and not an easy fix.

 

ya i only got a 240 stick welder and im not shur if it even works anymore...i guess ill let it ride the way it is.
