I went on a drive to San Fransisco a while back, and on the way I hit like 4328094 bugs. Somehow, a bee got hit so hard he went in the hood scoop whole. I thought it would disintegrate eventually, but nope, it's still in there, pissing the crap out of me.

Is there a quick way to pop off the scoop cover?

give it time...everything turns to dust...

i once had a bee get in my motorcycle helmet. he was buzzing around by my ear. have no idea how that happened. i quickly pulled to the side of the road to take off my helmet and a cop coming the other way stopped to see if i was on drugs. lol

true story....except for the drug part.

Ha, I got the same problem, that thing just seems to catch the bugs. All I really do is hit it good with the powerwasher after they dry up and it seems to clean it out.

From what I remember the screen in the scoop is riveted on. You need to take the scoop out of the hood so you can drill out the rivet. The scoop itself is just bolted to the hood.

I had mine apart last year so I could repaint the screen.

Man, so it looks like taking the screen off is out of the question (more trouble than it's worth).

I tried tweezers, or rather, towel clamps, but the ends are too big to fit through the screen.

Sounds like pressure washing that bad boy is the solution. Now, where to get a pressure washer...:p

When I saw the thread title, I was hoping there was a live bee stuck in your hood scoop, buzzing and flying around.

    That would be awesome.

haha. my friends rented one of those 15 seater vans once in Arizona on a pretty hot day. while they were driving, they decided to turn on the AC. turns out, bees built a hive in the AC ducts and bees started coming out all of the vents.

Holy shit I am going to have nightmares now. I have a tremendously irrational fear of bees.

well at least your fear is a little more rational than mine. i have an irrational fear of worms / maggots / etc.

snakes, spiders, sharks, bears, tigers don't scare me...but a fatty earthworm will.

    wth, birds? hahaha

    Yes that would BEE awesome.

Bees can be pretty irrational too, flying kamikaze into hood scoops and whatnot.
