Beer at 9 am

breakfast of champions my friend! However most sailors will say "When the sun is past the yardarm" (roughly 11:45am)... BUT i dont see why not

 

I get off at 6am some shifts, that to me is like getting off at night!!!

 

Look bad to who?? If you want a beer a 9 drink one who cares what other people think. When I worked nights we would drink in the morning. I don't work nights anymore but if i want a beer a 9am I have one. Nothing wrong with being drunk before noon.

 

last time i had beer at 9am.....i hadnt stopped drinkin from the night before.....ended up in the chili's parking lot half naked.

Oh and yeah if you can buy the beer you can drink the beer at any damned hour. We used to do it all the time, get a rain out at 7:30am and start drinking.

I work 6pm to 6am, in reality 530pm to 8am so I get home around 9am.

Nothing better than a cranberry vodka with lime with breakfast

 

NO!, It's not bad, I work 10pm to 6am and my wife says the same thing.

 

like everyone else said it's 5 o clock somewhere.

 

Yea I used to do 6pm to 6am also. Nothing wrong with it, hell a lot of people would go hit the bar right after work too.

my uncle drinks a glass of crown royal at 7am every morning for breakfast

 

X2, that's always my justification for a 9a beer!

 

I used to work 7pm to 7am and I would do it. Your schedule is reversed so it's all good. Now I work 7am to 7pm and it makes a little more sense after work now cause it's darker, but I'd still have a beer late morning if I'm not working and it's a good day.

 

Just put it in a glass that says "Milk". Then everyone is happy!

 

when i werked the night shift 11p-7a, i would have a few in the morning. a buddy that i werked with used to put his kids on the bus in the morning with a beer in hand. talk about some dirty looks!!! lol

 

Tell the wife not to watch if it looks bad. You are a shift worker, thats your afternoon/evening

 

I just got done working two months of a 5:30-3:30 shift at a power plant shutdown, and found myself in the same shoes as you. I figured the same, it is the same as your afternoon just a different time of day. Sometimes a bunch of us would meet a friends house nearby and have a couple before heading home. After I got home I would partake in some more myself. The looks on the faces of some of the neighbors seeing me drinking high life's and scotches on teh front stoop at 8 a.m. was priceless.

Drink on, you're employed and probably busting your ass- you deserve it.
