Could you check your resistor against the part numbers in the pdf in my previous post?

Same problem. Toyota dealer quoted parts at $78.05. Resistor 39.42, Connector 6.14 and wires 8.12(4).

The wires going into my connector are discolored, is my resistor bad or just the wires and connector? I'd like to do this once and be done with it, but dont want to waste money on the resistor if it isnt necessary.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Update: After reading through this and the other threads on the failed resistor, i took the connector out and removed the supply wire from the connector. Cleaned it up with some fine grade sandpaper and put dielectric grease on it. Works like a charm for now. More to follow

Sit in the front passenger seat and stratch your feet out, take note of where your left 2nd toe is. it's right there.

Glad to have found this thread. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I've replaced (a year or so ago) my defective blower motor resistor with the new part and didn't have any problems. A few months back I started having issues and the fan would only work on High. I did some trouble shooting and thought it was the control assembly ($200+ replacement part).

I wiggled the connector wires and turns out I had a bad pin! I've rigged up a fix for the meantime after cleaning the connector up, but I've got a new connector and pins on order from Mouser right now. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

My blower stopped a very light tap gets it working again but everytime I start up the Tacoma I have to tap it again. Works on all fan speeds so I'm watching this to see what I may need to do. OP, thanks for the thread.

My issue seems to be the connector that goes directly into the blower fan. It has two connections. It gets really hot and both connections are brown/burnt.

My '06 had the same noisy fan motor everyone had been complaining about. I did replace the original fan motor with the better part number (read the posts about noisy fan motor for the good Toyota part number) and it's been noise free for a year now. I did notice signs of overheating on the resistor as well as the harness itself. Pulling the heavy White/Blue supply wire from the connector can be done with a very small flat blade screwdriver. In my case it looks like the pin itself should be replaced. I will post pics if I upgrade the O.E. connector.

Did you ever figure out the 2 pin connector for the blower motor? Mine is completely burnt.

I can verify that these parts are 100% exactly the parts that you need. Or at the very least they worked as exact replacements on my '07.
