Recently I have been hearing a significant "bell" noise after I start my truck and then put it into gear - specifically reverse.

Also my truck jolts slightly when coming to a stop. I press on the brakes, and just when I'm to a stop it jolts at me, like I'm being tapped from behind.

Not sure if the two are related. The bell noise when putting the truck into gear seems to be a newer / more noticeable issue.

The jolt coming to a stop is likely worn leaf springs causing axle wrap.

the bell sound - I’d check your U joints on the driveline for play.

I has this happen especially in REV. The solution was to replace my U-joints.

I third the U joints. After I greased all the zerks the reverse ping and the clunking sometimes nearing a stop went away, as well as some cruising vibration!
