Definitely worse when its cold.. And noticed that when I left from work to go home.. It was a chirp at idle, constant squeal anything over 1500,, Slowly got better over the 20 to 30 minute trip.. Practically quiet when I got home...

Have you tried turning you AC on max low to see if the noise changes? Or turn the defrost off and on?

Looking at the 4.0l belt diagram, there is not a lot of belt contact on the water pump pully. You have changed the belt 5 times. Time to move on to something else. There are two things left, pully and pump. How much for a pully from the upick?

Can you take some pressure off the belt when the truck is running or put more pressure on it?

yes.. Have tried this several times. Adding pressure doesn't help. Going slack sometimes did a little, but usually caused belt to jump track

This is about the last piece of advice here I would try other than taking to the dealer and getting warranty work. Process of elimination for repairs which sounds like you've done just about all you can do. You could always try swapping stuff out and return if no change in noise? Just a thought hope it works out for ya.

All I can do it just change stuff til it quits I guess. Something started it all. Because it was fine last year. Then all the sudden I'm dealing with this. So at this point I'm just replacing stuff 1 by 1. I aint takin it to the dealer though.

I think you should just keep changing those belts. Its only like $60.

Sorry if this has been suggested already but...

Have you tried some sandpaper to scuff/clean the pulleys before installing new belt? Maybe there is something on there.

If there is an alignment issue and you've already done tensioner/idler and think the WP is fine... Have you checked the harmonic balancer? I once had a balancer bolt under-torqued (other vehicle) and eventually the balancer pulley itself came forward EVER so slightly as to disturb the alignment. I replaced everything too before finding this.

At the start of all this I noticed the balancer wobbling, so I thought that was causing the squeal. .. So I replaced it.. ive got it as tight as I can get it with the tool I created without shearing off the 10.5 bolts.

Sounds like you're over torquing the bolts.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'm going to guess belt tensioner but I'm probably wrong
