Haven't ordered the part number, because, well, it stopped. I have no idea what's going on. It's $108 with shipping for the part, just haven't gotten around to ordering it. Not even sure it's the problem. However, the tensioner might not have a bad bearing, it may simply not be applying enough tension on the belt. However, it's not consistent, nor is it getting worse.

Sounds like the same problem I am having.
It had nothing to do with the water pump
as it's fine on dry days right now.
It's the belt or pullies. By the way Toyota
of Dallas has the tensionet for $92 plus
    shipping.

this may sound crazy, but have you load tested your battery lately? if you have a battery fading out it can put ALOT of strain on the alternator, especially during those first few minutes of startup. over time it can cause the alternator to overheat, degrading the bearings making it harder to turn and causing a squeal.

Yep that's where I got the quote from (with the shipping it was $108).

As for the battery, no I actually haven't tested it.

just throwin' ideas out there because i've seen them before. but you most likely would've noticed something else going wrong .ie the engine cranking over slowly

Yeah I never thought about the battery
but it cranks just fine and again that
would not explain why it's fine most of
the time on dry days. Plus when I
applied sidewalk chalk to the inner side
of the belt the noise went away almost
    instantly.
