Bent Tailgate Replacement

    Has anyone recently gotten their tailgate replaced under warranty? What did the bend look like and how did you bend it?

    mine was bent (in the first month of owning the truck no less:mad:) by a 400lb brush mower falling off my loading ramp when at the top (just about at the tailgate) and getting hooked on and suspended after falling about 1-1/2 feet. Basically it bent the whole edge of the tailgate down by about 2 to 3" when measured in the middle, sorry, I dont have a pic of what it looked like though. Mine was replaced via the TSB in November with no questions/hassle at all, same as all the other TSBs i've had done on my truck. Here is the thread I started on how I reinforced mine before I knew about the TSB, and to keep it from happening again.

    yeah, that thread is what reminded me about how I need to get my tailgate replaced, I'm just waiting for them to deny me.

    so how much weight would bend a tailgate like that??? I want to make sure that I don't bend my tailgate while I'm still under warranty.

    i have a 749lb. motorcycle that did that...... was gonna load it up for a road trip... and as i pushed it up the ramp.... that happened. i was pissed for a while, but i figured ill learn to fix the damn thing myself
