If this endeavor is dead(which I wish is not). Then for those that wants to do this, I think the easiest thing to do is ask the members that already has installed the full hidden kit to take pictures of the complete install, pics of different parts that are use etc. From there you can source out or make your own part(s) that are needed , have an idea of how everything goes and can build your own kit.

Hopefully I don't get flack for it, but I'll ask anyways. So, for those that already have the full hidden kit installed, care to share.

I agree, it has been months since the OP has been active with this. I'd understand if he was still selling them not to try and source this stuff ourselves. I would appreciate the info to make this myself, and if the OP came back with the kit, I'd buy from him

I have the doublecab version, I think I still have my install booklet and instructions, which had an assembly drawing and all sub parts drawings. I can look at providing some of that but again, I dont want to steep on the toes of Ben the OP

I definitely agree Adio. I still give BenWA all credit for this mod, but it would be great if those of us that have are mind set on getting this mod done could at least try to figure it out and learn from BenWAs example and each other. I have already purchased just about everything to do the mod myself, just need some much appreciated guidance. Thanks again to BenWA for his ingenuity.

more of a reason BenWa should update his recent feeler thread if this thing is dead or not. weird that he logged on the 14th and not even give an update on it. if it is dead make it an open source, isn't that what Tacoma World is all about, an open source for every Tacoma owners. if he did patent it then that's another story.

Last time I read he was going to launch his new kit around august(which is pretty much now) but still nothing. I honestly think this thing is already dead, but I could be wrong.

I agree. Sad to say, there was a lot of money to be had, even if just by selling the info...

If he has ditched this product then I don't see what the issue is by posting parts lists for those who want to have this setup. It isn't patented. Making money isn't enough for OP to continue with this thread and product, so if he has jumped ship on it, then by all means someone should start a new thread, give credit to BenWa for the design, and share with others how to put it together.

If BenWa decides to post and get butt hurt about it, then the thread can be closed and he can resume his sales here. If not, again, it's his design - give him credit when/if someone does a new thread about how to DIY it.

    ^^ also agree here.

I think the only thing that's holding back members from sharing infos is probably the backlash from BenWa if he doesn't agree with freely sharing his design and open source.

I don't know. BenWa seemed VERY fired up about this initially, so I wouldn't think that he would have just abandoned the whole project, but then again who knows. Can't really be upset with the guy, if anything he (along with others) have given a great starting point and even some part numbers. The guy could be in the hospital for all we know. Again, I just hope he's ok. I want this done as badly as anyone but there are more important things in life. Not meaning these comments directed at anyone, just my 2 cents.

I have gone through this thread completely and could not find a picture of a hidden install with the back panel removed (so you can see where the motor assembly is mounted, how the cable are run, etc.) and the motor mounted to the metal surface. Does anyone know if there is a pic like that available? I have almost all of the parts to do this mod, but still have a few questions. My main concern is not mounting the motor or running wiring, but how to physically attach the sliding bracket assembly to the window itself. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks again,
    Ken

Not sure if you've already seen this pic. It's for the Access Cab but I think it'll be the same for the DC, and you'll have an idea how he runs the cables. Looks like you'll have to drill holes into 2 spots.

As for a bracket that clamps into the rear back glass, this is a pic that I found of his new kit.

See that black long piece up top, that's the bracket that clamps on the rear glass. It lays between the window and the trim that runs along the channel(not sure if that makes sense). I'm not sure what that piece is made out of.

I'm going to take a guess. This is maybe how the cables are attach to that bracket. This is from an F150 with a power sliding rear glass. Great example too of how that bracket lays between the glass and the trim.
