I tried to sort thru some of this.. 76 pages is too much..
Could someone be so kind as to post the general consensus parts list for 01 DC..
Is there any reason it wouldn't work for gen 1?
    Really appreciate it... Thx

@adio absolutely I'll take the bracket. Just PM me with the details and thanks :) Saves me from having to get one machined.

This mod is completely generic. The bracket that holds the glass will probably change for a different truck, but the majority of this thread could be applied to any truck with a sliding window.

It's not really a plan of mine. I think BenWa did a pretty good job of putting this all together and aside from minor tweaks don't see many areas to improve. More than happy to share what I learn though. I like more of a stock appearance so here are a few Toyota switches that are likely a good fit with the system.

I think @adio found this option for the switch area left of the steering wheel

Here are a couple I found that are the right size for Under the AC controls

I might look into wiring it up so that it is a one push set up, kind of like the auto down on our driver side window.

BenWa: you don't want to continue this project. You also want us to respect your intellectual property..
Since you abandon this, couldn't you just help us out and release all of it? All specs and sources, diagrams etc ?
We would rather buy kits complete.
    Thx

Oh I like that switch. @Up2NoGood part number please.

Does it fit perfectly below the AC control without modification?

I'll pull up the part number when I get home, also sourced the correct plug so I'll post that number too. As far as fit I do have that switch but haven't done a test fit on it yet. My one concern is it is pretty long so I'm hopeful that there is enough free space behind the switch blank for it to fit. I'll be out of town starting tomorrow and through the weekend but I'll do a test fit when I get back and confirm.

Any pics of where/how you placed the motor? I'm considering doing this and getting a local machine shop to create the bar...

Did you get that bar machined or did you use an alternative? If alternative was used, do you mind sharing what you used?

I've been looking at how to build mine and started with a motor from a dodge Dakota. I put it on hold after seeing all of the fabrication that I'd have to do to get it to work. I've recently found a regulator assembly for a GMC power rear window that looks quite a bit better fit, at least from pictures. It's ACDelco part 25980205. It has, what appear to be, long cables along with the cable guides already attached.

I was lucky enough to buy one of BenWa's last brackets. He did supply a fab drawing for anyone to take to a shop though - I link to it in my post #1500. I know others have had brackets made form this drawing. For a non-2nd gen I would check the dimension on the drawing against your track/glass before having one fabricated.
