Best 3rd Gen Colors?

What are your top 3 favorite tacoma colors?


Yeah I know there are other threads like this but they are out of date. I'll keep this updated until the 2023 model year

Color options for each year

 

It's always the color that's no longer available.

OEs changing the pallet is part of the ploy to prod people to buy a new vehicle.

 

First off...my Midnight Black, of course is my #1 choice.

I've been seeing the Barcelona Red on here...which I do like as my #2 candidate.

My previous vehicles were a Silver '03 Pilot & Gray '10 CX-9 so I would say Magnetic Gray....but I also like Voodoo Blue. Both those colors are selected as 3rd choice.

Mines a Super White but my favorite is Cement.

 

Vodoo blue would be my second choice

 

Quicksand, the best color for a truck ever devised. Owned my truck since March of 17 and haven’t washed it yet!

 

I loved the Lunar Rock and was bummed it was only on the Pro (I wanted the LB). To me, it just has some much needed depth over the Cement. Lo and behold the delay turned my order into a ‘22 and my LR DCLB should be here soon, so I am a happy man.

Rounding out my top choices, I like the Army Green and the Voodoo blue. Just barely missing the top 3 for me was the Blue Crush metallic. Now that I’ve seen pictures I think that color with bronze wheels would be a show stopper. I’m a believer that Toyota’s color palette is top shelf though, and that you’re kind of splitting hairs and can’t really go wrong with any of the colors they offer.

 

I like unique muted color, so Cavalry blue, Cement and Quicksand.

The 3 colors I missed because I waited too much before buying.

 

I 've had red, blue and my last toyota truck was gray....so many gray or silver toyota's around here that i'm sick of seeing them. I wanted something close to my old 1966 gold/tan gto, exterior color, so a quicksand tacoma it was. Its not that bad a color, yet i hardly see any on the road here.

Black of course!

 

Midnight Black Metallic... so beautiful, but such a hassle keeping clean.

 

Wind chill Pearl is epic.

but I still want an army green or lunar rock!!!

 

In no particular order I like all of these:

MGM, 2016-2017 Black-no metallics, metallic Black, Lunar Rock, Barcelona, Inferno Orange, Cement, Voodoo Blue, Blue Crush Metallic

I think some look better in sunlight, while others look better in shade. For instance, I really like Barcelona and Inferno in full sunlight, but not so much in the shade.

I wish radiant red would come back.

 

Clearly there's only 4 colors that have survived... @tonered ,we know what the superior colors are...

 

Love MGM, but if Spruce Mica had been available, I probably would’ve gone with it. Every time I see a 2nd Gen in that color, it turns my head.

I had not seen a Tacoma until 2020 so I thought the color choices were great at first - then I realized the nuances about special colors and timing etc.
They are not bad at all, but the palette is not all available as it seemed at first glance.
