That's a pretty subjective statement. There are options that sound good and don't sound good. My Magnaflow SS sounded pretty damn good without any annoying rasp or drone.

Is there a particular Flowmaster commonly used? My 2016 had a Magnaflow SS which sounded good but was still too tame for my taste so I have not put anything on my 2020 yet.

I have the MBRP Black Series. Plenty of videos on youtube/online. Good sound, may be a little loud for some people, but I personally enjoy it, and the price point is attractive too.

Love my borla as well, sounds fantastic. No drone on highways.

Garbage? Did you hear trd pro or the borla? They sound very good in person, not too loud and give a nice little rumble.

Exactly, I love that there's little to no drone while cruising on the highway. You definitely hear it on acceleration and I think the tone is nice, I haven't heard the TRD Pro in person myself but I have heard the MBRP and I didn't care for it too much. The MBRP was definitely louder but had a more raspy tone to it, kinda reminds me more of the second gens.

I've taken videos of it to try and capture the audio but it doesn't do it justice. I either pick up too much wind noise from windows down, or the sound is muffled too much...and depending on the device viewed on it can make or break your opinion of it. At home on my Razer Leviathan, sounds great with bass and full tones....on phone, lol....it's shit. Best to hear things in person if possible for sure.

He probably heard some hooligan with a straight piped 4 cylinder Tacoma and thinks they all would sound that way!

    Haha probably!

There is a dude (not young at all) around my neck of the woods and he is rocking dual MBRP on his 3rd gen...
    :puke:

Man it sounds so raspy and obnoxious its insane. Its not even high rpms, i cant even imagine how it sounds at higher rpms. He is probably losing power too.

Imo corsa, borla, trd and gibson and sound pretty good. Not too loud and no drone.

This is a way over the top exhaust system, but probably as good as you can expect the 3.5 to sound like (in my opinion!).

If you want a fantastic sound have a Swiss Alpenhorn welded on. There's usually a big discount on them after oktoberfest.

Anyone who says a V6 sounds good with an exhaust change has never owned a V8 with true dual exhaust.

I had a Flowmaster cat back set up on a V6 Dakota that didn't sound too bad, but it didn't really sound good.

Yeah, I totally agree. That is a true dual exhaust on a V6, and no it doesn’t sound like a v8.

Another vote for Borla. I went with just a muffler. Had it welded for $60

    Borla xs 40665

    no drone. Not too loud.

why guys are comparing a 3.5 tone to a V8 tone? Im so confused. No shit V8 sounds better.

We know we have a v6 and it will sound like a v6, and with the right exhaust a v6 can actually sound great.

Ha, thats funny that you mention that you still like hearing it. I bought my borla cat back last march and i still love hearing it. Before the install, I always drove with loud music and now all i want to listen to is the exhaust haha. It was more fun in the summer when you could open all windows and really hear it. Especially when driving beside the wall or parked cars.

I flashed my ECU with Ovtune recently and the exhaust note sounds even better now. I love how it gurlges between the shifts.

Bought my truck and previous owner installed the Flowmaster 50 system with ( duals). An exit after each wheel. At first I thought about selling it and going back to a stock or TRD single exit, but the sound is tolerable and not annoying. Maybe I'm just getting used to it. The two SS tips look nice too
