BFG KO2s are the number one selling AT tire in the world.

The biggest problem with KO2s is that everyone and their dog has them. They do look good. Fairly mean and their treads work for most conditions. Good all around tires. Nothing outstanding, but most things well enough.
Duratracs used to be the same, but they are an older tread pattern and been around for a while. I've had them both on different trucks and they were decent enough most of the time. Neither mounted on a Tacoma, the KO2s were on a half ton, the Duratracs on a 3/4 ton. Both carried 500-1000lbs of tools and work shit daily. I don't run winter tires since I keep the same ones all year around. Both are decent enough in the snow when new, but winters are better in winter, there's no arguing that.
Both tires wore out faster than I'd have liked, so I thought with the new Tacoma I'd try something new. I went tall skinny and got the Coopers in 255/85/16. 17's have way more choice in tall skinny, but more rubber sidewall has to be better off-road and aired down. We'll see how long they last on a lighter truck with little added weight since the tools get to live in a shopbox now.
If I had to recommend an AT tire I've had and liked, it would be the Toyo AT2. I had them on a well abused 4Runner and they were great. Quiet, good enough in the snow and rain and balanced fairly easily.
Take that for what it is, opinions are like...

I’ve had a few trucks (three HD Dodge 4x4’s, three Tacoma 4x4’s). Going through 8 different styles of AT and MT tires in my day, Duratracs have been my top choice. Definately my go to winter/snow tire

Anyone mention the Nitto Ridge Grappler, if I’m thinking of the right tire it’s a popular one now seeing a lot of em on road it’s a hybrid mt/at.
