Wondering if we'll start seeing posts on the shield and cat both being gone. Scrap stainless & aluminum, or resales to others for the shields.

    Hope not.

Just finished installing the MillerCat protection shield on my 'Taco. Wasn't too hard. There are some security fasteners on the crossbars that I didn't install yet. I'll do that tomorrow:

Installed my Millercat last week. Real easy way to install the front bolts is to leave the driver's side wing off until after you have started the bolts in the front. It allows easy access to hold the small plate on top of the frame in place. The driver's side wing can be put on last, just keep all the other fasteners loose until you do and then tighten everything up.

I'm gonna start stealing the shields themselves!! lol. With all the garbage that goes on....it's why I just went with full skid plates to protect everything underneath including the random ladder on the highway that is commonly seen on I95 and deer carcass. This covers the drivetrain and fuel tank and covers me for going off road, so why not just get it all? ps. before you go adding aluminum to your steel frame....do yourself a favor and look up galvanic corrosion.

Not that it's exactly a shield, but some police departments partner up with body shops to offer free etching of your catalytic converter. It may deter a thief as honest scrap yards should not be purchasing these. For those who are looking for a low budget option, check local PD programs and body shops.

Just another option if a cat shield/install price/time isn't an option for someone on a budget. I don't think anyone would have the illusion that it would fully prevent theft...but even if it makes one thief move on to something easier then it's done its job.

Unfortunately with how fast the thieves move I don’t think they check to make sure they don’t have a serial number etched in them. Just do off road skid plates.

For Miller installs, where are people putting the 2 stickers that come with it? It would be nice to let a scumbag know there is a shield before he rolls under, gets pissed off, and cuts something else out of spite. I doubt they check the windows first and on the exterior, where they would roll under, would just come off in the weather. For now I am leaving them off unless someone has a good idea.

They were cat-shaped or had a cat head, so my cat-loving kids wanted the stickers. I don’t think the thieves are going to be avoiding vehicles based on tiny stickers….?

I didn't put my Cat Security Stickers on. Let them roll on to the searing hot Texas pavement and find nothing but disappointment under my truck.
I honestly dont think they are going inspect any truck enough to notice any stickers.

I installed a stainless MillerCat. Aluminum is too easy to cut with a sawsall.
I couldn't find my "High Voltage" Stickers ;)

I took them right out of our electrical closet and put them on as a joke- Knowing the crack heads that are cutting them off can't read!
Good point! Maybe I'm just getting good air flow?

Threw away the stickers. Hate decals anyway. This is not an ice cream truck.
