So I got a call from my auto insurance (Costco's Ameriprise) saying that next month my new policy would increase >50% to something like $250 a month from $150 a month or thereabouts due to new calculations done for my region. I've checked with Geico, Progressive, and 21st Century online quotes and so far Geico seems to be the best:

    Bodily Injury 100k/300k
    Property Damage 100k
    Medical Payments 5k
    Uninsured Motorist 100k/300k
    Comprehensive 1k Deductible
Collision 1.5k Deductible with waiver for hit from uninsured motorist
    Rental Coverage $35/day 1k max

    $145/mo

For more or less the same coverage:

Progressive $155/mo with worse customer service reviews

21st Century $113/mo with horrible customer service (and avoidance upon request for service) reviews

I have one accident in 1/2014 that got me my Tacoma - rear ended a 90's mustang with my '08 Honda Fit and slid under the car's bumper. Looked away for a second going 35 mph and caused $100 in damage to her car - new paint for rear bumper and totaled out my car - radiator --> engine & goodbye front bodywork. :(

No tickets in last 5 years / DUI's in last 10 years - anyone know a better deal than Geico? I'm finishing my master's degree and working part time so $$$ is a little tight - I've only been in one accident ever so it's not like I'm looking for the ultimate coverage - not that I can afford it yet... Anyone?

I have USAA. If you're eligible they're a great option.
