Wanting to put an exhaust on my 2nd gen V-6. Wondering what was the best in regards to price and sound? I don’t want anything to loud. Just something better then stock.

I put on the TRD exhaust. Definitely louder and deeper but not overwhelming.

What does the TRD setup include? Is it all after the cat only, or cat included?

The TRD system is a cat-back unit so no cat. I too am looking at this as well as the URD Mark 3 cat-back and the U-spec which is a Y-pipe back dual muffler setup. The TRD will be more mild between the two and URD should be a little more performance oriented.

I have a Black Widow Race Venom Muffler. Love how it sounds. Thinking about removing the secondary cats to give it a little more throat but without the secondary cat delete still sounds amazing. Didn't think the trd was loud enough for me

I have a black widow I am planning on tossing in. One of the better sounding mufflers.

Is there any noticeable performance benefit to be had while keeping the factory cat? I just bought a 150K mile truck and am interested in doing what I can to wake it up. In the old days, cats would tend to close up over time, but maybe they are more resilient now, plus the EFI systems less likely to hit them with rich exhaust. But they do have performance cats too. I need to pass emissions where I live.

I have the URD spec-U exhaust. I installed it primarily because it moves the y-pipe out from under the transfer case. It is a little louder but nothing annoying. There are a few things to note though
-it eliminates the second set of cats which may not work if you have to get inspected, but is after the second set of O2 sensors, so it doesn’t throw any codes
-I had to get all the joints welded because the clamps loosen over time and it’s a pain to have to readjust and tighten clamps and muffler every couple months, I also had some forward hangers welded on because the urd does not have hangers on the y-pipe section where the stock exhaust does
-I had to cut the tip off, so it’s an after axle dump now because the tip would contact my wheelers 8leaf springs, which changed the tone a bit
But it’s stainless and big diameter if I ever get around to adding a supercharger

The T/X Baja and the TRD Pro came factory with the TRD exhaust. I think the T/X Pro may have?

All great notes on the URD U-spec. Did you notice any performance gains, or any loss of torque under 2k rpms? Any droning at all?
