Hello, I have a 2011 Tacoma Prerunner D/B. Stock Stereo with CD Changer and right now currently still have the XM trail. When that runs out, I plan on putting a ipod interface in. Things I want

    #1 Charge my Ipod
#2 Use controls on Steering wheel to change songs
#3 Have Radio show what song is playing.

I dont want to use the 3.5mm aux plug.

Whats the best one out there that you Taco lovers have found. Toyota OEM, Isimple? etc? Help please

do you ever have plans on upgrading your stereo system at all?

if so I wouldnt waste your money on the interface.

If not then somebody who has one should chime in soon.

I dont plan on upgrading the stereo system. My stock system is good enough, my 2011 Sport came with the JBL Audio system. Like I said, I would just like the 3 items below

    #1 Charge my Ipod
#2 Use controls on Steering wheel to change songs
#3 Have Radio show what song is playing.

I only have experience with the isimple pxamg from Peripheral. The nice thing was that you could easily update the firmware.

I've got the standard, non-JBL audio system in mine. The PA20-TOY is actually for the JBL Nav System upgrade, but it works just fine in my unit. I access it using the DISC button on the head unit.

It charges my iPhone, I can control the songs/playlists from my head unit, and it displays Track/Artist/Song Title on the screen (scroll through using the TEXT button). You can set it to SHUFFLE and REPEAT using head unit controls. And there's no loss of quality/volume through the interface. Also, when the iPhone is not silent, it mutes the music audio for my alert sounds/ringtones.

The only drawback I have found it that it can only play 6 premade playlists (must be Labelled TOYOTA1 - TOYOTA6) and the bulk library.

I never relabeled my playlists on my Ipod and I can cycle through them all fine

    Really? Jerk! Just kidding.

I never really tried it. I just read that in the directions and went ahead and did it.

Yep! When I was caught in the Snowpocalypse around Thanksgiving last year I streamed Pandora through my iPhone to system for 2 hours on my 8 mile drive home. Idiot Seattle drivers....

For $99 this does everything you requested. I know because I own one and this is where I bought mine. It was the best price around and fast shipping.

Every once in a while, if I keep changing from playlist to playlist it'll get confused and default back to the top playlist and I'll have to unplug it and plug it back in. It only happens once every 6 months or so but I think it's attributed to is my ancient Ipod. I've got a 6 year old aluminum cased mini and it's actually not even listed as one of the compatible Ipods for the system but it still works very well.
