Turned 5k on my '09 last week and just today changed the oil switching to 5w30 Mobil 1.

Dunno what it is, but I feel better, look better and smell better. Smarter and stronger too. Don't need these glasses anymore, either. It's CrAzY!

    Welcome to TW! :D

I like mobil 1 as well. This type of thing seems to always be in vehicle forums... I'm sure there's at least 12 other polls asking this same question.

Welcome to the forums, use search :D

Did you take shots of Mobil 1, have it on the rocks, or mixed it with redbull?:p

What do you all think about castrol edge? Is it any better than the reg. castrol syn.? Or is it just in a shiny new bottle so people will think its better?? Just wondering because I can get the edge for $19.50 or mobile 1 for $23 at walmart. For 5qts.

Check out www.bobistheoilguy.com and make an informed decision.
I prefer Pennzoil Platinum. Mobil1 is popular because of it's availability.
Check iut the UOA's on the above site.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
As I've been saying forever, the oil doesn't matter as much as how often you change it. I seriously buy the cheapest oil at Walmart- usually Valvoline and their cheap FRam filter. 14 years and 230,000 miles later and the engine is still in near perfect condition. Do er' every 3,000 miles and you're good.

I've said it before. If Mobil 1 is good enough for Porsche, BMW and Corvette, It's good enough for my Tacoma. However, I would not have a problem putting the other brands in my truck either. They are all good quality, but I use Mobil 1, because I can get it anywhere at a good price. BTW, welcome to the Forum. Good first post.

People are going to vote for what they use, and with Mobil 1 being so widely available...

Really, those are all excellent oils and as long as they're changed regularly, you probably won't see any difference between them.

There's a big hoopla these days about grade III vs grade IV base stocks, but really almost all synthetic oils are a mix of grade III to grade V base stocks...rarely (if ever) is only one used, because the additives used in motor oil are not all soluble in the same kind of base stocks.

Go with a well known synthetic - Mobil 1, Amsoil, Royal Purple, Redline, etc. - and you'll be fine. Just change regularly.
