    What does that prove?

    Nothing.

Doubtlessly you could have been using PepBoys house brand and have no problems. Ever.

Why does everybody fly off their rocker when someone says "Amsoil"?
Amsoil invented synthetic oil, they were the first
Is it just because its not advertized and its not sold in Wal Mart?

I like Dickies brand jeans and they are not sold at Wal Mart

are dickies jeans sold like tupperware?

Different people have different reasons...mine is mainly 'cause Amsoil doesn't certify to any industry standard specs... it's sold on a 'trust me' basis and that is it. They claim to 'meet requirements of', but no certifications. That's pretty important to me, but then, working in the aircraft manufacturing industry one has a tendency to become sensitized to the importance of certifications to specs and standards.

But being sold at Walmart (or PepBoys, or Autozone) is really convenient when you need a quart and your Amsoil connection is two states over.

Lots of trucks get to 200k on dino oil, so best synthetic is irrelevent since no one here races on it and needs it going to work every day . But any way ,I have syntheitc mobil products in the transfer case and differentials, castrol in the engine since it was on sale. I think as good as synthetics are, we all mostly overpay for so little gained in the end. Theyre all good , all spendy , all making someone else a ton of money.
