Amsoil Synthetic ASL 5w30 Oil, Amsoil ATL Fuel Efficient ATF, Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 in front/rear diffs & transfer case.
I have a 2005 Chevy Express Company Van (I'm a Plumber) with the 4.8 Liter V8. I just ran Amsoil 0w30 Signature Series synthetic oil with an Amsoil Ea Oil Filter for 19,400 km's (12,125 miles) (one year) and I sent in a sample to Blackstone labs for oil analysis. They said that my oil looked good after that long and was comparable in wear metals to 8000 km (5000 mile) averages they have banked on this exact engine from other oils, and that next time I should run the oil 25,000 km's (15,625 miles) and send in another sample.

I am not a dealer (contemplating it though), but a preferred (wholesale) customer and I can tell you that Amsoil blows Mobil1 away.

I used to have a 93 pickup which I sold recently to my Uncle (4x4, Xtracab 5 speed 3vze V6). I used to run10w30 Mobil1 Synthetic in it. When I changed the oil in, I could notice a difference in how the engine before the oil changed, to how it ran after I put new Mobil 1 synthetic in after it was changed. This is very typical of what you notice when you do oil changes in most vehicles with conventional oil. The new oil adds a bit more "pep" and it seems to run a little nicer.

After I switched to Amsoil, the difference between Pre-Oil Change engine performance, and after oil change engine performance was virtually unnoticeable. In fact when I switched from Mobil 1 to Amsoil, the engine ran better generally.

It's not even just the oil though - Amsoil has a serious line up of synthetic fluids that fit virtually any application. I run their products in virtually everything they offer something for - my outboard motors oil & leg oil, my wifes car, my company van's transmission, engine oil, & rear diff, when I had my truck, the entire drive train, oil, etc.

If I need fluids, I order them, they're here in less than 5 business days, and the shipping is reasonable. In fact with shipping, tax, etc. I am still paying $3-4 less PER QUART of fluid (oil/gear oil/transmission fluid) then if I bought it locally at a retailer. And it ends up being cheaper than Mobil 1 as well this way.

People actually believe stuff like this?

AMSOIL and Mobil 1 (along with every other brand name synthetic on the market) are so good you'll never notice a difference between them at recommended OCIs.

Which oil is most successful with extended OCIs seems to be largely related to what engine that particular oil happens to be in, according to UOAs. i.e. certain models of say, Subaru, happen to like Mobil 1 for whatever reason and show lower wear with it vs. other oils.

Part of my distaste for Amsoil, despite their excellent products, is their multi-level-marketing bullshit. Put that shit on the shelf where it can compete with everyone else and I'd probably buy it. I'm not signing up for anything just to buy motor oil.

The "best" oil out there is the one you're comfortable with. Talking about oil is like talking about politics or religion.

It's alot of this ---> :jerkoff:
And a whole lot of this --->:crapstorm:

I agree, a truck full of regularly changed clean oil is the best, keeping it well lubed and maintained will get you a decade of service from your vehicle. one study showed Americans wasting money on over maintaining their vehicles, I recommend 3 months or 5 k on the oil and filter under normal operating conditions
