Ok so Christmas is coming up and I am torn on what type of muffler I want for my 2002 2.7L 4cylinder Tacoma. I've looked up some but the only muffler I see that sounds to my liking are a thrush glasspack. I would like the loud sound but a clean sound. no raspy metal sound like if you were to cut the exhaust straight off. Also, i saw a guy put a borla muffler on his 4cyl Mercury cougar and I was wondering if I could hook one up to my Taco. Its got a beautiful sound. Here are the links:

Best muffler for a 4 banger?

    The stock one...lol

IMO, the only good four cylinder cars that sound good are the obvious ones... STi, EVO, etc. (no Honda's). I personally don't think 4cyl Tacoma's sound good with exhausts, only because they sound like riced out Honda's.

No need to draw attention to your 2.7L. Keep it quiet. :p

If you are looking for loud and clean....

Magnapacks sounds pretty good on the 4 banger, kinda low and burbly without the rasp
I personally wouldn't own one because I don't want the attention but it sounds good at least

I don't mind it being loud, yea some sound like ricers but that one glass pack sounds amazing on that taco. I live out in the country so I don't go anywhere to get into trouble for sound. I have been doing more research and I may go either magma flow. It gives a lot of power and has that nice deep tone that isn't clunk.

It does IMO, my cat was clogged. So me and my dad cut it off. The sound is deeper, and its a little louder.

Sounds badass, but does he have the muffler only? Or a whole exhaust system. Or does it matter?
