An ARE camper shell, a 1000w power inverter.
Other than Haynes and Chilton's which are Junk IMO, yet neaded for reference.

I usually get Bently (book publisher not car company) manuals for European cars, and FSMs for American cars. Usually Japanese cars have online manuals that are really good. But I like the thick 2,000 page book versions to keep in my shop.

Just wondering what's out there, what do y'all have?

Or are manuals not needed as these things don't break down much?

(which is what I kind of get from here, but looking at thread subject)

http://www.alldatadiy.com/ is an on line service where you pay for a year or 5 years for. They have discounts. They have all the diagrams, service bulletins, etc. The last year for a Tacoma is 2010.

Okay, I think I won't get a manual for this truck...

    $600 for the four manuals???

My Bently manual for my old 740il was only $35...

    for my Jetta $55.

    This is crazy.

The good news is you should not need one too often :D. So far, all the information I have needed to know about the truck for each project was available on line. Its nice to have a manual in hand at times I know, but today its so easy to get info on line for just about anything. If you find a good manual source let us know...

I have had the OEM service manual for every car and truck I have owned. I thought it was a misprint when I saw the price.

it is good to hear about being able to find most info on-line.

Still not happy about the price of the book....

    Hi all.

Toyota, like many auto makers, will not be printing the FSM's anymore. For a modest sum (compared to what they would charge for the printed manuals) the info can be downloaded online at TIS. The bonus is, there is a wealth of info there above and beyond the FSM's.

    Cheers
    Ray.

At my ford dealer we use alldata for non fords that come in and 90% of the time its as good as the oem manual, hell the ford stuff from alldata is often exactly what ford gives us

I suspect ALLDATA Pro Version is good. In my experience, ALLDATA DIY is not.
