I did business with them back when they had the tiny shop on South Main Street. When they opened the new one on W. Chestnut I told the service manager I expected my own reserved list like some customers get at high end restaurants. To this day, I'm not sure if he knows if I was kidding or not.

Another point in their favor is that they keep staff for years and years. Oh, and they've covered stuff under "customer good will" that other shops wouldn't even think of doing. They also took good care of my son when they bought back his 1st Gen for frame rust. He lived in NJ at the time, but brought the truck back up here. He then bought an '05 from them. When that needed a frame replacement, he gave serious consideration to drive up from Alabama to have them do the work.

No, they are not paying me to say all this! ;) I read horror stories, including my son's experience with his '05 frame replacement, and hope that if I ever move south I can find a shop as good as Copeland.

My wife has dealt with them since the mid 1990s (before we met). She had a red 96 when we met in 2002 that was bought back in April 2008..they also fast-tracked her buyback when it came a few weeks later and she was going to be out of the country for 10 days. Watching both that experience with Toyota as well as the particular dealer made me say if I ever go other than GM it will be Toyota..summer 2012 was when my Colorado mess started and I ended up in Oct that year buying my '10 from Copeland. We did find her 2005 Rav4 at the Main St location..right across from Desantis where my brother in law worked at the time.

There was a thread on another forum a couple of years ago about a guy who had a Colorado with and unfixable transmission. GM finally agreed to buy it back, at least in principal. I lost track of the thread and never found out if they actually did. Apparently there was some horrible problem with the flex plate connecting the transmission and motor. Not that I would buy a GM anything these days.

The engines in 04 through most of 06 were puking the head..both 4 and 5 cylinder engines.

Back in the early 2003s we had GM 3500HD chassis ambulances. Diesel engines puked heads very frequently. Let the coolant get just a drop low and say goodbye to the heads. Not to mention the nitwits that put the wrong type of coolant in. That did something to the heads as well.

As I recall, the GMs had the orange stuff and the Fords we had used the green stuff.
