so I've been contemplating for some time now about whether to totally de-badge or remove and paint like a flat black I have the base model so it has the flat black trim and I'm thinking they might really look good painted the flat black. I am not really to sure what's the best way to remove them I've heard some of that decal/adhesive remover or just a hair dryer and some fishing line also if I decided to paint them any suggestions on what to use to re-apply them. here's a little glimpse of what she looks like as of now

To remove, fishing line, saw back and forth till emblem pops off. Take some goo-gone to remove remaining 3m tape/glue, wash off with car soap/water. Easy peasy.

I just de-badged mine a week or two ago. Simple really. I used an old plastic Starbuck's gift card. Any similar plastic card will word. It was easy to slide behind the letters and using a sawing motion the badges came right off. Maybe took 20 minutes to do the whole truck. Then used GooGone to clean up the adhesive residue. I had used Plasti-Dip on them and it held up for a few years. Started to have a few spots where the derp started to come off so I just decided to de-badge. I like the clean look all around. Good luck.

PS - I just parked the truck out in the sun to heat everything up a little. I didn't use any other heat source. The plastic card is soft enough to not damage the paint but stiff enough to slice the adhesive off behind them.

If the goal is to go black don't take them off. You'll run the chance of snapping them in half. Just tape them up and dip them then cut off the access. Super simple and the best part of about plasti dip is if (and when) you mess up you just peel it off and start again...

Here's a thread that will answer all of your questions and provide you with more pictures than you probably care to look at...

    nothing cool
It'll take you more time to research how to remove the emblems than it actually takes to do it. Park truck in the sun, fishing line, the fingernail and goo gone. Easy.

I did the fishing line thing, it worked very well. then sanded the badges and used a plastic promoter then primer and rustolium bed liner 3 1/2 years ago. they still look as good as the day I did it. Took a little longer than plasti drepbut looks and holds up much better.
