Best way to disable ABS

I think I have how-to's for Ronstone and landphils methods.. have there been any updated ways to disable ABS?

I did. I hate my ABS off-road. It's damn near killed me before. I don't like it and don't want it when I'm off pavement.

Stopping roughly 5 ft. past every stop sign I encounter in snow or ice.

 

I simply want to know if there are other methods to disable other than those two methods (which I know aren't tough, thank you).

I agree, I almost rear ended @MADSTEEZE going down a rutted hill and my anti-locks started. Luckily, I was able to get enough traction to turn the truck to the left.

 

You will have all the abs police in this thread now talking about how can a humanzee actually be better at stopping in adverse conditions than a abs ecu.

I personally have setup a disabled switch in my taco, tundra and fj. Its the only way i can actually come to a stop on a snow covered street. And in the last 10 years of doing this , not once have I killed anyone or impregnated anyone.

Pull the main abs fuse. I know it works in older trucks.

I'd call that driver error. I live in snow and ice for six months out of the year and never have had my ABS cause me to slide through intersections or stops signs. If you keep sliding five feet past slow down and brake earlier, or at least just start braking five feet sooner so you're stopped by the sign.

 

I am also truly interested why so many need to disable their ABS on the road. The only surface where ABS increases stopping distance is loose gravel. So I get that some people don't want the ABS off-road, but what's the problem on ice and snow?

 

I always thought the ABS system in GM vehicles was the worst.Every one I drove was much touchier than the tacoma.Surprised on how good the ABS is on our freebie Nissan Quest.I run winter tires,no problems with the tacoma.
