I have a 2006 Tacoma 4x4 Access Cab. It only has a Pro Comp front leveling spacer. Nothing done to the rear. I kept hearing a noise from the rear end whenever I was starting to roll from a complete stop. And after doing some research I found that it was "axle Wrap". I read a few places to get a u-bolt and either put it in front of the axle or right behind the axle on the leaf spring and problem fixed. Well that didn't last long so I then checked my axle bolts and they were all fine. So now I'm at a loss. What do I do to fix this issue? From what I've read it doesn't really harm anything, but its just extremely annoying and makes me a little uncomfortable seeing how it feels like its getting worse. Please offer some suggestions. Thanks in advance guys!

If it just has a front spacer, the axle wrap should be no more than what stock was. Stiffer leafs or traction bars are what most use, I imagine. Only time that I had (barely) noticeable wrap was when I had a 2.5" spacer in the rear.

PM 4X4, he is a bit of a leaf spring authority around here. He also has a thread, Tacoma Spring Refurbishing, but I don't believe it talks about wrap. He may be able to help you, good luck!!

Nothing wrong with that. Don't get antsy, most spend months (Emphasis on plural) researching before they do a mod. I save money with TW but spend it back in hours spent reading!

A homemade traction bar fixed all of my problems with axle wrap and the associated vibes. I didn't want to lift mine by beefing up the spring pack or by changing it out. It makes a heck of a difference.

What if I just got an AAL instead of replacing the entire leaf spring??? Would that make any difference at all in fixing my axle wrap issue?
