Best way to increase acceleration speed

What makes you think it's slow any way? Sold your old Vett?

 

I think my 6 speed is as good if not better than the auto. It has a lot to do with the driver. I can accelerate and shift just fine with my taco.

Yep! Stock v6, 6 speed, two guys and 450lbs. In the bed. Just tried it yesterday, to see how fast it is.

 

You coulddddd gut the interior, remove the doors, and lose like 50 lbs...?

 

The manuals are notchy and they definitely don't shift quickly. There is only so much one can do about that. The acceleration is definitely better with the auto. I've had the 6 speed, which is a fun truck, but for everyday use just isn't as nice.

has to do with back pressure.

 

Not enough back pressure at low RPM (ie off the line). Back pressure is restored at the higher RPM because there is more exhaust trying to be pushed out.

 

The only charts in there showing noticeable gains from simple bolt-on items are from the manufacturers of those items.

Funny how user-posted charts with similar equipment show half the gains.

 

Torspd is an aberration. He has a magic touch.
Your results will vary.

 

Engine swap and re-gear. Get a 4.7L V8 out of a 4Runner and get some new gears. You'll need to race in 4-wheel high for traction. Lightweight racing seats can help. =)

 

From my 2 weeks on this site, I can see that you're one of those guys that will argue untill the other person gets annoyed and walks away.

Not sure the 4.7 would be that noticeable. pickin up 50 hp and how many pounds? If be willing to bet that weight to power ratio would still be really close. Ud get more hp and less weigh (except for in ur wallet cuz it would have more in it) with a sc. turbo that thing I u really wanna push the limits and u got deep pockets tho. check out torspd and toon.

Or you could do headers, intake, y-pipe, exhaust and tune, and have more power than a 2uz. Up to you.
