I have a torneau cover on my Taco. If I installed either the Besttop or the Softopper, can either be easily removed so that I can put the tornrau back on? I'm looking for interchangeability!
    Thanks.

Yes. You would have to remove the frame rails from to top side of the bed sides as this is where the frame of the Softtopper attaches. It's four clamps, 2 per side, and the rail. It's not hard and should add about 5-10 minutes to the removal/install.

With either topper can I access the front rail when the topper is folded down? I have bike fork mounts on the front rail of the bed and would like to be able to still put bikes in there without having to completely remove the topper.

Possibly...probably. I could fold mine down after work to check. For now here is a thread with a picture showing one in the stowed position. It just lays there.

You can access the front rail with the Bestop, the top just lays over it. If you left the fork mounts on, the top would lay on the mounts.
I would guess the Softopper is the same.

I got a deal on a Bestop here on the forum. It seems really decent. I did put some seam sealer on the seams in spots where u could see daylight though.

I'm waiting for some rain to see just how much gets in...

I REALLY wanted to get a tan Supertopper though. Mainly, I just like the look better.

I should know better than to settle. Now I'm considering selling this and getting what I originally wanted...

It was MINT until I pulled too hard installing it... I tore a seam. I bought a repair kit made specifically for Jeep tops.

Sewed the seam back together, covered the stitches on both sides with Aquaseal, then applied the patch to both sides as well.

The patch is black, so you really don't see it unless you know it's there.

Pricey, but good quality. A customer of mine has one on his Taco and loves it. Put it on in '05, said it's been on since and it still looks pretty good.

I called and spoke to Can-back. They are back in production, and it looks like they have Taco toppers available, but not for the 2016's yet. I know a few people in Montana that run them (older versions) on other trucks. They are very stout and weight bearing but very pricey. If anyone is considering a Bestop of Softopper AND looking to add a big bed rack over top (like SOS's)- this might be a viable option.

that's good to know. you can also go the official softopper route and still come out with more money in your pocket compared to canback. and you don't lose the versatility of the foldup softopper

Yeah I would LOVE to get a Can-back, they can put mesh windows in, all sorts of options. That would be great for me as I haul two bird hunting dogs and plan to sleep in the back on occasions. However the price is just too out there. The Softopper has ventilation, but I hate not having side windows (I like to see out if I'm holed up camping). I just ordered a Bestop for my 2016. With the removable windows I'm pretty sure I can either fab up some mesh myself or have a local marine upholstery shop make something up and still cost quite less than a hard cap or a Can-back.
