OK, well my uncle just bought his 2nd tacoma. 2007 4.0, TRD. its pretty nice. well i was talking to him and he bought this 2 days ago, and toyota offered him this "thing" that can be installed to increase gas mileage and HP. he didnt know what it was....not really versed on car/truck parts. this is all he told me. and also toyota just started offering this to their customers a few months now. has anyone heard of this. i have personally researched a lot of these make shift "things" that are suppose to improve gas and Hp, and i have yet to find one that really makes all that much sence, let alone seem be made of good quality. so i ask again, anyone know about this.....and if so, whats the info?

things to save fuel and get more hp? Only thing I know that is true is intake and exhaust. A more free flowing system helps with improved mileage on the highway and a little bit in city driving. It also increases some HP and TQ numbers in the mid to high RPM ranges. Anything that's a bolt on or solder on is BUNK. Doesn't work and it's just marketing to get people to buy the products.

yeah, for 199, i wouldnt think he's gonna get anything that actually works. i would turn it down in a heartbeat. If it was that cheap then toyota would put it in all their tacomas to be able to boast more hp and better mpg. sounds like bullsh!t to me

You shuld tell him to just go with a K&N 77 series that helps mpg a little and gives it extra hp!!!!!!

CAI and exhaust will help with the fuel mileage.

The exhaust will yield the most benefit. With the CAI, you won't really feel a whole lot, just more noise and the throttle is more responsive. Oh yeah, don't forget the tonneau cover, that helps to reduce drag and give you some better mileage.
