yeah... I think this may be the last time that I test anything. You guys are getting way too upset about something that was supposed to fun and informative.

If you don't like it or you don't think it is going to work, then don't buy it. It really isn't that difficult.

I have seen gains in fuel economy, and I plan on posting the final report tomorrow. On top of that, I enjoy the power increase. I believe in the product. I have 23 tanks of fuel that tell me why I believe in it. As hard as I drive my Tacoma, I doubt the placebo effect has anything to do with it.

No 007, I would think that the majority of us really appreciate what you and Mav have done, using your trucks, time and money to test this for us, I know I do. So don't let a few people and their opinions ruin this, just remember opinions are like a**holes, everybody's got one and that in this country everyone is entitled to their opinions even if they are wrong.:D

Yeah, don't let a few squeaky wheels make you forget about the silent majority. I have not formed an opinion on the ECO product yet. Looking forward to the experience sharing.

Seems to me that if installing one of these units is beneficial (at all), then why don't or can't there be (5) or (10) of these things installed in a daisy-chain for TEST purposes. You know what I mean, increase the surface area in contact with the fuel so that a higher volume of fuel is exposed to the "benefits" of copper.

I realize that doing this for the average Joe would be cost prohibitive. However, for noting actual and definite positive results it might enhance the perception.

Is the unit too restrictive to have more than one in-line with eachother? Is it restrictive at all, for that matter?

I'm just thinking out loud here. ;)

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
I hope the result are positive, personally, I have my doubts on how valid it is.
Every time there is a jump in the price of gas , the market is flooded with gas saving additives and devices.

This being said, lets wait for the results. Thanks to 007 and Mav for the work they have done.

you created a great thread that turned into a warzone because of two people that can't comprehend the idea that if you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all. Questioning any idea or product isn't a bad thing unless you are just badmouthing it because you think that college made you smarter than everyone else that would just rather try it and see. 007 and MAV, thank you for putting in all of your time, effort and money into testing these things. as for speedy and whoever the other guy was, what the hell makes you think that you can join tacomaworld and raise hell with your first few posts? if there isn't a new member restriction on here, there should be one implemented. Questioning the validity of a product in a peaceful and respectful manner can be helpful, as it expresses the views and ideas of others which may then cause the product to be tested more thoroughly. some of what you two posted, when glanced over, simply said "hey buddy, f*** you, you're wrong and i'm right" but instead of respectfully explaining your reasoning, you seemed to have wanted to cause a problem. if you want to start sh*t with somebody dumb, head over to clubfrontier.com. we all bought tacomas because toyota has made a name for themselves and their products. if a new auto manufacturer came onto the market with a "technical innovation" on their vehicles, would you automatically lose your mind over it just because you don't understand how, if, or why it works? all i'm saying is that this isn't your battle, this isn't a battle at all. Tacomaworld is a friendly forum for Taco owners looking to help each other with their beloved trucks, not a place to raise hell and be disrespectful.

I'd also like to thank 007 and MAV for trying this product out. I'm lookin forward to seeing what the results are. If 007 had some good luck with it - I'm in. (I"ve got about the same truck and the 2.7/manual) I've been getting around 21-23 mpg/hwy and would VERY much like to get those numbers UP!

Thanks again - your time and attention to this is appreciated!!

    No worries guys...

I am not really going to let to people's rant keep me from testing out new stuff and sharing the results. I just wasn't prepared for my curiosity to start a war of words.

I really appreciate all the support guys!!! :D

BTW - these guys won't get any better support over at http://clubfrontier.com as they decided to try it out as well... http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2172&highlight=ECO-2

They also decided to do a group buy. It must have worked for some one. ;)
    http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1911

I read a bit through their posts and found this test that the State of Texas did on the ECO-System...
http://www.tceq.state.tx.us/assets/...missions Technology of Texas Final Report.pdf

Adam is stuck doing a run this morning for work, and I have to go into San Antonio to pick up a tonneau cover that my wife ordered for me for our anniversary - 3 weeks ago (topic for another day). I have the final report together in an excel spreadsheet, but it isn't going to fit on here. So, once i get with Adam to make sure he has everything he needs in there notes wise and I get with Bob on a good way to post it, we will have the results up today (I gotta head out to North Carolina tomorrow/tonight).

Oh, I put the ECO-2 on my wife's RAV4 V6 last night. WOW! I thought that thing was a rocket before (this is its first mod). As far as the mileage, we will see on the trip to North Carolina. As for the install, well, let's just say that I don't want to remove it. The V6 in the RAV4 is wedged in there just right - not much room to work around in.

Again - THANKS for the support. I knew there was a reason that I wanted to share my curiosity with you. :D

A big thank's to all of you who contributed positively to this great thread.:D

A special thank you to Manof for starting the thread and to Mark and Adam for all your work. You guys are great!

On the basis of the preliminary reports I decided to purchase the ECO2 on a "won't hurt - might help" basis. The device has been installed for two weeks now and I know I now have a clean exhaust - a couple of pals even did a "Michigan" emissions test by sniffing the exhaust and then holding their palms over the end of the tail pipe. Absolutely no odor left on the hand. (It a good thing a cop didn't drive by and think we were elderly glue sniffers looking for a new kick!:p)

I expect to see (at least) the 1-2 % mpg improvement indicated by the Texas EPA tests. That's good enough for me.

From ECOTAZ way back on page 9

I am pretty sure that is the price, though now that the test is over and we are ready to procede with the group buy, that has not been confirmed, nor has the 30 day clock started, so wait to hear from ecotaz with a 100% solid confirmation of the price and the start of the 30 day clock.

I know that for the most part all of us would love a device that works so we will try anything.

But I am willing to try something if it is properly tested. I think that Mav and 007 are doing their best to test this device and I personally appreciate it. I also appreciate any opposing points of view as well, we need them.

Sure, a lot of people try to "push" stuff on us so we can become critical of everyone. Like Car dealers, they are not all crooks and ripoff artists, most are probably but I've met some good people within them.

Most are lackeys, in this case it sounds like the developers themselves are trying to assist in the evidence, I am cool with that.

If you are a pushover then get mad, if not then be confident you will not buy this item and walk away. I have been silent up until now for this reason. I would like to see more of what 007 (even though he's Texan) and Maverick (even though he's Candian) have to say.

Oh my! I didn't realize that until now! These guys can't be right, there's no way! That device sucks now! Our two enemies are trying to put sticks of explosives posed as gas saving devices in our gas tanks!

    Alert! ;)

Update: I have reliable evidence that somehow Eco, Mav and 007 have developed this device to explode after 521 miles of installing it into an Alliance owned vehicle. The air in the alliance is more humid and it is in this way (somehow) that they are accomplishing exterminating us.

But on the other hand...007 is my hero because he took out a metrosexualmobile...and few can say they did that.

    Okay, I'm still on board.
